The Buckingham curling club’s board of directors and the Challenge Château Cartier de Gatineau’s organizing committee held a press conference Tuesday October 6th 2015 at the "Maison du Citoyen" in Gatineau.
The 7th edition of the Challenge will host 228 curlers from 7 Canadian provinces and 7 countries including Canada, the United States, Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and China. There will be 32 teams in the elite men’s division including 11 of the top 25 teams in the world and 25 teams in the « open » division .
Headlining teams include Niklas Edin, 2015 World Champion, Brad Gushue, Olympic gold medalist, Pat Simmons, 2015 Canadian Champion, David Murdoch, 2014 Olympic silver medalist and Gatineau's hometown favorite Jean-Michel Ménard and his 2015 Quebec championship team.

The seventh edition of the "Challenge Château Cartier de Gatineau" presented by DoubleTree by Hilton Gatineau-Ottawa is part of the World Curling Tour (WCT) and will take place October 21st to 25th 2015 in Gatineau. This first class sports event will be jointly held at the Centre Sportif Robert Rochon (in the Masson sector of Gatineau) and the Buckingham Curling Club.
This tournament is of international caliber and is now considered one of the biggest ones in Canada.
This event, will be a great happening and no doubt showcase great curling for the many fans of this sport in this region. We are also anticipating that this event and the influx of many out of town teams will generate a significant economic boost to the National Capital Region.
